Product Description

aluminum die casting Process Steps for Transmission Housing
Step 1: Die Design and Creation
The first step in the aluminum die casting process is to design and create the die. The die is a metal mold that is used to shape the molten aluminum into the desired shape and design of the transmission Housing. The die is typically made of high-quality steel and is machined to the exact specifications of the parts.
Step 2: Melting and Preparation of Aluminum
Once the die has been created, the next step is to prepare the aluminum for the die casting process. The aluminum is melted in a furnace at a temperature of approximately 700°C (1300°F). The molten aluminum is then transported to the casting machine where it is held in a heated chamber until it is ready for use.
Step 3: Injection of Molten Aluminum into the Die
The molten aluminum is injected into the die at high pressure using a hydraulic piston. The pressure is typically between 10,000 and 30,000 psi.The high pressure ensures that the molten aluminum fills all the cavities of the die and forms the desired shape and design.
Step 4: Cooling and Solidification
After the molten aluminum has been injected into the die, the die is cooled using water or oil to help solidify the aluminum. The cooling process typically takes a few seconds. Once the aluminum has solidified, the die is opened, and the part is ejected.
Step 5: Trimming and Finishing
The final step in the aluminum die casting process is trimming and finishing. The excess aluminum is removed using a trim press or a saw, and the part is inspected for any defects or imperfections.
